Dear Colleagues

It is indeed a great pleasure for me to welcome you to the Clinical Fellowship/PhD-Program “Clinical Neurosciences” which was established by the Tehran University of Medical Sciences and the International Neuroscience Institute Hannover. My personal thanks belong to Dr. Seyed Hasan Emami Razavi, President of TUMS Neuroscience Institute, and Dr. Seyed Mohammad Ghodsi, Head of TUMS Trauma and Surgery Research Center and Neurosurgery Department, with whom I had the honor to develop and negotiate the agreement of the Clinical Fellowship/PhD-Program “Clinical Neurosciences”. I am thankful to the distinguished members of the PhD-Faculty who have agreed to receive PhD-Candidates in their respective institution and have nominated high-ranking research topics. I am thankful to the members of the PhD-Commission who will help to successfully perform this program. And, I am especially thankful to Professor Madjid Samii who has initiated and will accompany this program with his huge experience.

For the first time, young Iranian clinicians will gather in a PhD-Program which combines a clinical fellowship in one field of clinical neurosciences with an education as clinical researchers in a truly transdisciplinary way. It is our aim to promote the education of highly professional clinical researchers while gaining excellent clinical knowledge and skills as specialist in one of the fields of clinical neurosciences as well as to enhance the competitiveness for a scientific clinical career and to meet the needs for a wider professional career than academia, specifically for leading medical positions.

I am full of hope that this program will give a unique opportunity for all PhD-Candidates to exchange ideas and to search for best solutions of the different challenging problems in clinical neurosciences.

My colleagues and I welcome you cordially and we will do our best to make your participation in this program an unforgettable experience.
